| | Grenade attack on Sopore police station | | | SRINAGAR, Nov 29: A grenade was lobbed on Police Station Sopore in north Kashmir on Thursday evening by suspected militants without causing any damage. The police spokesman said that the grenade was lobbed towards the police station at around 5:30 pm. However, he said that no damage was caused as it exploded outside. “The militants hurled the grenade towards the police installation but it exploded outside on road due to which no damage occurred,” spokesman told Kashmir Times. The spokesman said that the manhunt was launched in the area and all entry and exit posts were seized. The attack on the police station caused panic in the area with people running helter skelter. The incident occurred barely a day after suspected militants lobbed grenade in Bijbehra towards CRPF personnel and injuring three including a civilian. On the same day the militants attacked the CRPF bunker in Bemina Srinagar killing man. |
