| | Congress leaders intensify campaign at Padder | | | JAMMU, Nov 29: District Congress Committee (DCC) Kishtwar today intensified the campaign for the Legislative Council elections, accompanied with several party leaders, including Youth Congress district Presidents who visited the far flung areas of Padyarna and Padder and met party workers including Panchs and Sarpanchs. According to a statement, its president Pardeep Singh Parihar and party leaders appealed the latter to vote in favour of coalition candidates Sham Lal Bhagat and Dr Shehnaz Ganie. On the occasion, several party related matters as well as issues of public importance were also discussed. At Gulabgarh (Padder), the leaders while addressing the meeting, stressed upon the party workers including Sarpanchs and Panchs from different villages to work unitedly for strengthening the party at grass roots level. Parihar also assured the senior party leaders to remain steadfast for the promotion of the latter’s interests and urged the functionaries to strengthen the above as an instrument of service to the common people. While addressing the gathering, prominent Congress leader and former DYCC President Sheikh Nasir Hussain highlighted the achievements of the Congress party and urged upon the workers to take the policies of government to common masses and appealed the Sarpanchs and Panchs to ensure thumbing victory to the coalition candidates. Later, the leaders also met local National Conference leaders during their visit to Padyarna and Padder. Those who were present on the occasion included Sheikh Nasir Advocate, Block Presidents Haji Ghulam Hassan Mir and Nek Ram Manhas, Ashok Tickoo, Vidya Sagar and Kuldeep Singh, Youth Congress Assembly President Kishtwar Nadeem Iqbal and others. |
