| | NC-Cong for empowerment of people: Dy CM | | | NAGROTA, Nov 30: The coalition candidates electioneering in Jammu district ended with a grand finale at the Nagrota constituency where 39 of the 43 sarpanches of the constituency participated alongwith their panches. Tara Chand, Deputy Chief Minister while addressing a largely attended function said that the coalition government during its four years tenure has brought in peace and development in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and a powerful Panchayat Raj system is the commitment of the coalition government headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. He appealed the Panches and Sarpanches of Nagrota to vote in favour of National Conference -Congress candidates - Dr. Shehnaz Ganai and Sham Lal Bhagat. He said that victory of Sham Lal Bhagat and Dr. Shehnaz Ganai will be the victory of the sarpanches and panches of Jammu province, as they will highlight their issues in the Upper House. The AICC Secretary Incharge J&K Abdul Manan Ansari who joined the function urged the gathering to help the state coalition government to strengthen the panchayati raj system in the state and make it effective as envisaged by the father of the nation Mahatama Gandhi and the first Prime Minister of the country Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru. RS Chib, Minister for Medical and Technical Education while addressing the gathering said that holding of panchayats elections after a period of over thirty years indicates the intention of coalition government to empower people at the grass root and involve them in policy framing and implementation of schemes. Political Advisor to the Chief Minister Devender Singh Rana while addressing the sarpanches and panches said that National Conference and Congress coalition government stands united by an ideological bond and is striving for the holistic development of the entire state. He said it is an inseparable bond between the two parties and their respective leaderships with the sole objective of serving the people and ensuring the development of the state. He said coalition government is striving to realize the vision of Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah for a better and vibrant Jammu & Kashmir where the common man at the grass root level is empowered. Rana said Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s visionary initiatives for the welfare of the people of the state have unnerved the detractors who are indulging in meaningless, baseless and mindless rhetoric to infact give vent to their frustration. Rana appealed to the sarpanches and panches of Nagrota to vote en-mass in favour of the coalition candidates viz Dr. Shenaz Ganai and Sham Lal Bhagat. He said that success of the two candidates will be a befitting reply to all those who are trying to undermine the strength of the coalition government.
