| | TA jawan, SPO among 3 killed in Reasi mishap | | | REASI, Dec 1: A Territorial Army (TA) jawan and an SPO were among three persons killed as their vehicle rolled down in a nallah in Mahore area of Reasi district late this evening.
The deceased were identified as a Satbir Singh (25) of 157 Battalion of Territorial Army (TA), son of Pritam Singh, resident of Saad, Mahore, Chain Singh (24), an SPO, son of Sher Singh resident of Shajroo and Arjun Singh (20), son of Des Raj, resident of Shajroo.
Official reports said that the trio met with an accident when their Tata Nano JK20-1438 rolled 400-500 feet down in Angrala Pai Nallah late Saturday evening between 9.00 PM to 9.30 PM.
As soon as the report of mishap flashed, the jawans of 59 RR, police immediately launched a rescue operation with the assistance of locals. SP Mohan Lal, while confirming the death of all three youth in this mishap, informed that they were going to participate in a marriage ceremony.
SP stated that the jawans engaged in rescue operation in the gorge were facing great problem on account of darkness still the operation continued.
SDPO Mahore Naseem and SHO Arun Kotwal were monitoring the rescue operation, which was on till late evening.
The bodies of all three deceased had yet to be retrieved till the last reports poured in. |
