| | Specially abled children to be rehabilitated at grass root level: Bhat | | | SRINAGAR, Dec 3: In connection with weeklong programme for specially abled persons, World Disability Day was observed at Composite Regional Centre at Bemina here today.
Director Social Welfare, Bashir Ahmad Bhat who was the chief guest on the occasion highlighted the role of Anganwari workers and helpers for rendering their services in the upbringing of specially abled children in the valley. He also discussed various schemes being initiated for the upliftment of physically challenged persons besides organising community based rehabilitation programmes and initiation of survey programmes in the Composite Rehabilitation of persons with disabilities.
Bhat also emphasised that differently abled people have to live with dignity by getting proper rehabilitation and education with a view to rehabilitate them at gross root level. |
