| | Govt machinery misused to lure village heads : BJP | | | JAMMU, Dec 3: "Accusing that the Government machinery was misused and every effort is made to lure the Panches and Sarpanches to vote in favour of the candidates belonging to parties of ruling coalition". This was stated by BJP State Spokesperson & Media Incharge for the election Dr. Nirmal Kamal, while briefing the media persons on the officials influence and use of manpower on the day of voting on today. She was flanked by BJP Election Incharge Bansi Lal Bharti and Election Cell Convenor Rajinder Sharma. She said that the BJP had been engaged in hectic campaigning for its candidates Col. Uttam Singh and Rashpal Verma for J-1, J-2 MLC election for the two weeks in a very organized manner under the able Organizing capability of State President Shamsher Singh Manhas, State General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Koul and entire team constituted for election. Optimistic about the success of the candidates at the same time Dr. Nirmal Kamal suspected foul play at the behest of sarkari machinery was pressed for manoeuvring the voters to favour NC and Congress candidates. Giving the evidences, she conveyed to the media that the party has received dozens of complaints of booth capturing, active involvement of government employees where the government worked entire night in using Gram Sevak and BDOs and other officials openly violating the Model Code of Conduct. Narrating the incidents she told the reporters that one Shaukat Ali a teacher in a Mobile School at Gujjar Kothe, Saillanjan was found influencing outside the Mahore polling station another Abdul Gani lecturer at Mahore and Sarpanch Kewal Singh were influencing voters at the polling station at block Mahore. Top of it Manohar Lal, Minister for Cooperatives organized a “langer” within 50 yards of polling station in a temple against Model Code of Conduct. Many more examples she quoted, which were earlier referred by National Executive Member & MLA Ashok Khajuria in a press conference. Showing the letters of complaints to the Chief Election Commission of India and Chief Electoral Officer, J&K, Dr. Nirmal Kamal said that no action so far has been taken. She further said that unfortunately, the state which is No. 1 in corruption is hell bent to win the MLC seats by all unfair means. The voters comprising of Panches and Sarpanches were infact in mood against the existing government as they were not happy with the government and since this election is conducted after 1974, the voters were enthusiastic to use their right of franchise so the reports coming were that about 100% polling has taken place. She further expressed for fear that in areas like Nyom, Mangts and Tishot in Ladakh and Marwah, Dacchhan, Wadvar which are well known difficult areas without proper road facility 100% polling is not possible without unfair means. |
