MAM College bags overall trophy in Wrestling

JAMMU, Dec 4: Securing highest 22 points, Government MAM College today clinched the overall championship trophy in the annual inter-college men’s wrestling tournament, organised by the Department of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, here.

Second place went to Government Degree College Kathua with 17 points while New Age Degree College Phinter in Billawar remained third obtaining 16 points.

The final bouts in this two-day event were witnessed besides others by Director Sports and Physical Education, Prof Dhian Singh Bhau and Assistant Director, Dr Sonam Angchuk.

The competition was officiated by the penal of technical officials including Jai Bharat, Sahil Sharma , Mulkh Raj Sharma and Bansi Lal Tadyal.

Up to 50 kg: Mukesh, GDC Billawar, 1st; Balkar Singh, New Age Billawar, 2nd; Vikas Saini, G.G.M. Science College and Shabir Ahmed, Trikuta Degree College, joint 3rd. Up to 55 kg: Javed Ahmed, G.D.C Kathua, 1st; Onkar Singh, New Age Billawar, 2nd; Sher Singh, G.D.C Billawar and Asif Navez, GDC Rajouri, joint 3rd. 60 kg: Aman Gupta, M.A.M College, Ist; Farman Ali, GDC Kathua, 2nd; Prem Singh, GDC Billawar and Arun Singh, GDC Udhampur, joint 3rd. 66 kg: Tallib Hussain, New Age College Phinter, Billawar, Ist; Umesh Singh, KC Law College, 2nd; Zakir Hussain, GDC Hiranagar and Suraj Parkash, MAM, joint 3rd. 74 kg: Mohd Hafiz, New Age College Phinter, Billawar, Ist; Daler Singh, MAM, 2nd; Mohd Kabir, GDC Rajouri and Ajay Singh, GDC Billawar, joint 3rd. 84 kg: Asraf Ali, G.D.C Kathua, 1st; Darshan Kumar, MAM College, 2nd; Parveen Singh, Trikuta Degree College and Aman Sharma, GGM Science College, joint 3rd. 96 kg: Mohd.
