| | Another ceasefire violation at LoC | | | MENDHAR/POONCH, Dec 6: With no let up in cease fire violations, Pakistan Army again violated ceasefire at Krishna Ghati sector of Mendhar tehsil in Poonch district. Violating cease-fire, Pakistani troops reportedly resorted to heavy firing of small arms, mortars and LMG rounds on Indian forward posts along the Line of Control (lOC) in Poonch district. A senior army officer, said that there was firing using light weapons and LMG attack on forward Indian post Kranti, Kirpan and Nangi Tekri from PAK’s Roza, Battal and Daku along LOC in KG sector between 4.50 PM to 5.15 PM. However, intelligence sources said that Pakistani troops of 653 Mujahid opened indiscriminate fire from their forward posts between 8.30 PM to 10.30 PM with intermittent firing between 10.30 PM to 12.30 AM. Indian Army troops of 3 Grenadier guarding the LoC retaliated the fire. One army jawan Lance Naik of 3 Grenadier resident of Rajasthan sustained injuries under mysterious circumstances, sources added. Army claimed that the jawan was injured in landmine blast along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district whereas intelligence agencies claimed that he was injured during exchange of firing as he accidentally stepped over IED. He was airlifted to Command Hospital Udhampur for advanced treatment. GOC Infantry regiment visited the spot where ceasefire incident took place. Official sources said the firing was aimed for pushing the militants. |
