| | Cong workers celebrate victory | | | JAMMU, Dec 6: The leaders and workers of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) district Kishtwar, today celebrated the victory of coalition government candidates who won all the four seats of MLC election for which counting took place early this morning. According to a statement, PCC Secretary Jugal Bhandari while addressing the gathering said, “The victory of our MLC’s is the victory of all secular forces and only secular forces can lead the nation towards the progress and prosperity. The leaders further said that the ruling NC-Congress coalition has swept the Legislative Council and of the four LC seats which went for polls on December 03 in which NC and Congress bagged two seats each. The Congress leaders and party workers today also celebrated the victory over the winning of National Conference and Congress candidates outside the residence of MLC Naresh Kumar Gupta in Bhaderwah followed by dance and betting drums in their hand. Supporters gathered outside the residence of MLC who is also Doda Congress Committee district president and dancing and bursting crackers and raised slogans in the name of their party and leaders. The supporters also took out short processions as part of the “Vijayotsava”. Sweets were also distributed Congress workers raised slogans for the long life of Rahul Gandhi, UPA Chairperson, PM and Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad. Congress leaders while addressing the gathering termed the victory of the Congress candidates included Sham Lal Bhagat as “victory to secularism” and faith of the citizens in the leadership of PM Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi. Those who were present on the occasion included Abdul Kabir Malik, Kulbushan, Shabir Ahmed Khan, Dharam Pal Dogra, Shiv Kumar Kotwal, Saleem Malik, Saleem Wani, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Muthra Das, Rajesh Gupta, Mohammad Shafi Ganai and others. |
