| | “Save mankind from evil Men” | | | Dear Editor
In mad pursuit of greed and earning easy money, vicked men have become the enemies of mankind. Globalisation and Economic reforms pursued by the rulers of all hues and colours have added to the miseries and hardships of common man especially the working classes and toiling masses all over the country. In an article which appeared in Kashmir Times on 4th November this year titled “Suryaputri dying a slow death” it has been stated that River Tawi which is known as Surya-putri (daughter of Sun) and provides drinking water to major part of Jammu city has been turned into a big filthy drain. More than 1200 metric tonns of solid waste and sewerage is dumped daily by JMC into this river. Besides this, 18 big nallahs and drains also flow into it. Even most revered rivers of Ganga and Yamuna resembles as dirty drains despite the fact that these two rivers are revered by the people of India who take holy dip on auspicious occasions and immerse mortal remains of their departed nears and dears into river Ganga. Numerous Factories and Industries located alongwith these rivers drain poisonous affluents into these rivers causing worst pollution. Out of greed people cut trees ruthlessly denuding jungles and forests, mountains and hill ranges and meadows which used to full of dense forests are fast becoming barren resulting in global warming, disturbing environment thinning O Zone layer and endangering ecology and mankind.
There is thus dire need to create awareness among the people to make the rulers to rise to the occasion and prevent, evil people to indulge in evil deeds endangering the mankind.
