DEAD-END
First Lady's party grand!
By S Mukhtar
"
"Uncle."

"Yes dear."

"US First Lady Michelle Obama has launched an anti-obesity campaign."

"That's good!"

"She has involved children too, interesting. A week ago, at a White House ceremony, she got recognized those children who had won a healthy recipe contest. President Barack Obama too attended."

"That's very good! You know too many Americans are going too obese."

"Why so?"

"Dear…they eat too much."

"Right then the healthy recipe contest…the message…the advice. I wish I were there for some minutes."

"Yes, what would you do?"

"Uncle, I wouldn't talk of President Obama's personal likes - burgers, hot dogs, broccoli, etc., as those children did. I would appeal to him about those fearful aspects."

"Yes say, what aspects say?"

"Uncle, you remember what you told me was said in the latest Royal Society report?"

"Dear, I am an old man now. I only remember the Royal Society convened a 23-strong expert body from around the world, chose Sir John Sulston the Nobel Prize (Physiology) sharer 2002 as its Chairman, and the Society released its report: what, I don't remember."

"Uncle, that Royal Society report you told me emphasizes that many people in the developed countries consume far too much food than is good for them and simultaneously waste its unbearably huge amounts; some middle income countries also are now going this way. It stresses that this over-consumption, and more so this enormous wastage, must be steadily reduced and ultimately stopped. That done, the Report says, none will go hungry even when we already are full 7 billion people now."

"Dear, I remember."

"And this I would beg of First Lady and First Lord of First Power to say to their own and other nations' gluttonous giants and would-be giants, yes this: Choose a healthy recipe; Don't overeat yourself; Don't waste food; May your waste reach the hungry; May a morsel go to every hungry soul! First step taken: Congrats! The other steps too, soon, soon please. This is the call of the world's 1.3 billion wide open mouths."

"God bless you son!"
