| | Shabir arrested at Newkhanda | | | SRINAGAR, Dec 7 : Shabir Ahmad Shah, chairman Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) was arrested by police at Newkhanda in Pulwama.
Shah was arrested when he was on his way to Arihal to address a public meeting.
According to his party spokesman the DFP chairman was scheduled to address the people at Arihal. Cops deployed at Newkhanda did not allow Shah to proceed towards Arihal. They arrested him along with Islamic Political Chairman Mohammad Yousuf Naqash.
The spokesman said people raised pro-freedom and pro-Islamic slogans when Shah was being arrested. |
