| | 35th BSF Inter-Frontier Athletics Meet: Punjab wins sprint gold, Sham of Jammu excel in walk | | | JAMMU, Dec 11: Constable (Ct.) K D Bag of Punjab Frontier emerged as fastest runner while Ct. Sham Singh of Jammu Frontier clinched 20 meters walk gold on day-two of the four-day 35th Border Security Force (BSF) Inter-Frontier Athletics Meet at BSF Stadium, Paloura, here today. Second place in 100 meters race went to Ct. Ali K of Tripura while Ct. Umapada Yadav of Rajasthan remained third. In 20 kilometers walk, Ct. Sudheer Baliyan of Gujarat Frontier and Ct. Sohan Lal of Rajasthan bagged second and third place respectively afte first position secured by Sham Singh of Jammu. In other track events of 4x100 meters relay, Gujarat bagged first place while North Bengal and Jammu Frontier remained second and third. Similarly, in 5000 meter run, Ct. Mandeep Yadav of Punjab Frontier bagged gold while Ct. Naveen Kumar of Rajasthan and Ct. Pintu Ram Meena of MLDA Frontier secured silver and bronze medal respectively. The 400 meters hurdles gold went to Ct. Surjeet Singh of Gujarat Frontier. Surjeet was followed by Ct. BM Palli of Punjab and Ct. Rinku Tomar of Punjab on second and third positions respectively. In 800 meters race, Ct. Kuldeep Singh of Punjab bagged gold, followed by Ct. Gulab Singh and Ct. L D Prajapati of Jammu Frontier at second and third spot respectively. In field event of High Jump, Ct. Dinesh Kumar of M&C emerged winner while Ct. Mangej Pal of Jammu Frontier was second and Ct. P Chandra Singh of Tripura finished third. |
