| | JKLF hold protests | | | SRINAGAR, Dec 11: Protests on human rights day were organized by JKLF in some parts of world including many cities of Pakistan Administered Kashmir, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, UAE, USA and UK. “Protests were held in many cities Mirpur, Kotli, Muzafarabad, Bagh, Bhimbhar, Gilgat Baltistan, Athmuqam, Thoda, Abbaspur, Hajeera, Trad Khal, Tatpani, Khotrah and Chadhowi. Protests were also held in Pakistani cities like Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi. Many programs were held at Saudi Arabia led by Manzoor chisti, UAE, USA and UK also,” party said in a statement issued here. It said a protest outside the Indian High Commission in London highlighted “the continued human rights violations in Kashmir by Indian Armed forces.” “Members and supporters of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), along with the supporters of the Kashmiri cause gathered in front of Indian High Commission in London where they shouted slogans against Human Rights abuses by Indian troops in Kashmir,” it said, adding, “The objective of the protest was to draw world attention towards the recent life sentences given to Kashmiri youth in Kashmir.” The protesters called on the Indian government to immediately release all political prisoners, it said, adding they also called on the international community “to check the excesses that the forces have unleashed on the people of Kashmir over the last over two decades.” It said a memorandum was also presented to Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh. “The memorandum highlighted that the inhuman policy of Indian administration along with draconian laws continued to increase the possibility of blatant and unbridled violations of human rights,” it said. Meanwhile, the JKLF Chairman, Mohammad Yasin Malik, has left for Dehli where he will undergo a surgery. |
