JAMMU, Jun 17: Reminding the people about the betrayals and broken promises of BJP in the past over its core commitments to the people of the state especially Jammu region, JKPCC chief spokesperson has asked BJP to fulfill its vital commitments including delimitation before the ensuing assembly elections.
Referring to the resolutions of BJP Working Committee reiterating the same very commitments which has the party has been repeating time and again o the eve of each Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the state. JKPCC said that all these commitments were thrown in to dustbin for the sake of sharing power with PDP in the state. The BJP leadership and ministers did not mention a single commitment during the honeymoon with PDP in the state and continued to serve as obedient coalition partners. Taking a dig at the BJP, he also reminded BJP of its similar resolution opposing release of stone peltors but they had to eat a humble pie when over 10,000 such stone peltors were released and cases withdrawn against them.
“Now when the Assembly elections are drawing near, BJP leaders again started making false commitments to the people of Jammu region, especially exploiting youth, who were subjected to worst kind of discrimination and neglect during BJP regime in the state. Against tall claims of ending discrimination in every sphere to Jammu region, the BJP could not even ensure due share to the youth in the matter of recruitments, as large scale back door appointments, favoritism, nepotism and regional bias was evident in the recruitments during PDP-BJP regime in the state. The BJP was party a party to the worst discrimination and injustice to the deserving ones. The BJP cannot absolve itself of this great sin by passing on the blame to the PDP only being equal partner in the government and ruling at the Centre for five years,” Sharma said.
