WASCJ highlights power, water crisis

Jammu, Jun 29: Welfare Association Sainik colony Jammu today held a meeting in which they expressed grave concern over the frequent power cuts and water crisis in the colony.
In a statement issued here today, the members of the association urged the authorities to take immediate steps in restoring water and power supply in Sainik colony. The meeting was presided by President Welfare Association, Harkirat Singh Sasan who said that the unscheduled and frequent power cuts have made the life of people miserable, especially of the students who are preparing for various examinations. The association further criticized the functioning of PDD and PHE department’s adhoc Chairman, apart from the Sainik Cooperative and House Building Society for the same.
Meanwhile the association also elected Sasan as the President of the Welfare Association, Bakhshish Singh as General Secretary, Rakesh Sharma as Secretary and Advocate Ajit Singh as advisor.
The other members who attended the meeting included S.M.S. Parwana, retired headmaster, Joginder Singh, retired ZEO, Harbajan Singh, Rakesh Sharma, R.P. Singh, Jasvinder Singh, Bakshish Singh, Daleep Singh Bali, Karamjeet Singh Sodhi, Pashouri Singh, Saran Singh Sodhi, Gurjeet Singh Rissam, Joginder Singh Raina.
