V’Devi chopper service remains suspended

JAMMU, Jul 18: The chopper service from Katra to Sanjhi Chat for Vaishno Devi pilgrims on Thursday remained suspended for third consecutive day due to fog in view of rains in Trikuta Hills in Katra town of Reasi district.
Due to rains, the Trikuta Hills remained hit by fog thus suspending the chopper service for the third day from Katra. “There is rush of Pilgrims and till Thursday evening more than 16000 pilgrims proceeded to Bhawan from Katra,” an official said.
He added that in view of suspended chopper service, pilgrims were trekking either on foot, ponies or availing pithoo/palki service,” he added.
“Chopper service will resume as soon as weather improves,” he added.
