Unique Club Gadi Garh wins girls title in 4th open Inter- District Tug-of-war championship

JAMMU, Dec 28: Unique Club Gadi Garh won girls title in the Annual 4th open Inter- District UT level for Men and Women Tug-of-war championship organized by Jammu & Kashmir Tug- of War Association.
On this occasion Hardeep Singh Anand President Tug of War Association was the chief guest and disturbuted trophy’s and certificates among the winners and runners. He wished all the participants best of luck for their future endeavors. He appealed all the participants to take part in games as it keeps our body fit and our mind fresh and the winners can represent National and Inter-national events.
The selected 30 players which represented this tournament of this championship will be representing the forthcoming 32th senior National Men and Women championship which will be held at Nandad in Maharashtra scheduled from 15 to 18 january 2020.
Earlier, chairman of Unique Public Hr Sec. School, Gadi Garh, Jammu Jasbir Singh welcomed the distinguished gathering and presented a brief note on the competition. In his note he highlighted the achievements of the Tug-of-war Association at the Union Territory level for a long time which encouraged the youth who participated at the National and International level.
Those present included Jodh Singh Isher(Gen Sec J&K Tug Of War Ass), Jasbir Singh (Chairman UPHSS), AR Anger,(Kashmir) Nirlep Kour (Principal & Vice Chairperson), Tariq Ahmed, Jagdish Sharma (Administrator) , Ravinder Singh , Gourav Dubey , Neha Chib , Sunil Kumar and Harpreet Kour.
The details: (Women’s Section wt. 480 kg.(Semi-Final): Unique Club Gadi Garh, Jammu beat Udhampur District, by 2-0 set. Jammu District beat Rajouri District by 2-0 set. Final – Unique club Gardigarh Jammu beat Jammu district by 2-1 set.
Men’s Section, wt. 600 kg.(Qtr.Final): Jammu District beat Udhampur District by 2-0 set. Kathua District beat Rajouri district by 2-0 set. Unique club Gadhigarh Jammu beat Ramban District by 2-0 set. Kashmir province beat Poonch District by 2-0 set.
Men’s Section wt. 600 kg.( Semi-Final): Jammu District beat Kashmir province District by 2-0 set.
Kathua District beat Unique club Gardigarh Jammu by 2-0 set. Final : Kathua District beat Jammu District by 2-1 set.
The matches were officiated by Gourav Kumar , Sourav Kumar , Sohan Lal , Robin Singh and Kiran Kumari.
