POONCH, Dec 28: Former MLC Dr Shehnaz Ganai has urged upon the district administration to constitute the monitoring teams and send them to spot to assess the difficulties and loss of properties of general public, occurred due to the recent inclement weather conditions in far flung areas of Haveli Constituency of Poonch.
In a statement, She uttered that the administration must be fully prepared well before all such happening as it has many mediums to reach out to the general public. She said that the power scenario in far flung areas of tehsil Mandi has gone bad to worse as most of the transformers are out of order and no repair has been done to overcome the power issue in these areas.
She told that it is surprised to know that even after showing the successful completion of second phase back to village programme by the authorities, the problem of power supply still exists there and no quick action plan to sort out the issue has been chalked out during back to village programmes. Ex- MLC said, the administration must be timely prepared and should convene all departments meeting soon after the issuance of advisory from Meteorology department.
Dr. Ganai said that in order to overcome such like problems, the administration should be well aware of power consumption during cold weather conditions. It is worth mentioning that many panchs and sarpanchs especially women representatives have appealed the former MLC to intervene and get their issues solved at its earliest.
Dr Shehnaz assured the panchayat members that she will definitely take these issues with the administration and also with UT higher authorities. She also appealed the Hon’ble LG to J&K UT to issue necessary directions to the concerned quarters for early redressal of the problem.
