Distt Reasi Fencing championship
Amba Kids, Zorawar Club excel in competition
REASI, Dec 25: Amba Kids Home Panthal in girls and Zorawar Club Reasi in boys section emerged overall champion in the 7th District Reasi Fencing Championship which concluded at Indoor hall of the DIET, here under the banner of District Fencing Association.

Around 100 fencers, drawn from educational institutions and clubs, took part in this competition in different age groups. The competition was officiated by penal of technical persons including Dimple Thappa, Shivani Hans, Adhirath Kesar, Amit Manhas, Nihal Singh and Ranvijay Singh.

In the final and prize distribution function, District Development Commissioner Reasi, Nirmal Sharma was chief guest. She encouraged the fencers of district and informed that a modern fencing hall will be constructed in the town very soon. The district administration was looking into the suitable piece land for the hall, which will be constructed with financial assistance assured by MLA Reasi, Baldev Raj Sharma out of his constituency development funds, she added.

Principal of Government Degree Collge Reasi, Dr. Ajeet Angral as also District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Dr. SS Chib and president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma were guests of honour.

Prominent among others present were president Zorawar Fencing Club Reasi, Rakesh Kumar, Dr. Ranjeet Singh and general secretary of the Association, Jagdish Kumar.

Under-14 Sabre Epee: Nikhil, Ist; Idrees, 2nd ; Kunal and Vishav, joint 3rd. Under-17 Foil Individual: Dhruva Gupta, Ist; Kamal, 2nd ; Sajad and Razdan, joint bronze. Under-19 Foil Individual: Abhinav Pandotra, Ist; Chahat Singh, 2nd; Abhishek and Rajan, joint bronze. Under-19 Sabre Individual: Hardeep Bhagat, Ist; Ashutosh Pandotra, 2nd; Sudesh and Saksham, joint 3rd. Under-19 Epee Individual: Mohd Ismile Khan, Ist; Anoop Jyoti, 2nd; Bharam Dutt and Ravinder, joint 3rd.

GIRLS: U-14 Foil Individual: Sakshi, Ist; Bharti, 2nd; Anshika and Neha, joint 3rd. Under-19 Sabre Individual: Himani, Ist; Tahira, 2nd; Shivansi and Mehnaz, joint 3rd. Under-19 Epee Individual: Simmi Akhter, Ist; Priyanka Thappa, 2nd ; Arti and Anu, joint 3rd.
