Guest house damaged in fire in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, Jan 13: A guest house was damaged in a devastating fire in posh Raj Bagh area of the Srinagar city early Monday morning, official sources said.
They said fire broke out in a room in the “Jabeen” guest house at Raj Bagh, Zero Bridge early this morning. However, before the fire tenders could reach the spot, flame spread to entire upper storey of the guest house.
They said fire tenders were rushed from different parts of the city, including Fire and Emergency headquarter, Batamaloo to douse the leaping flames, clearly visible from a distance.
It later took more than four hours to control the fire, they said, adding the cause of the fire was being ascertained. “Police has registered a case and started investigation,” they said.
No one was injured in the incident, they added.
